Sigil Magic

Sigil magic is an easy but fairly powerful kind of magic. Apart from pen and paper you won’t need anything. (Of course you can make it a part of a bigger ritual as well.)

To create a sigil, write your wish on a piece of paper.
The following example serves to explain further action in more detail.

Your wish is probably

ACKNOWLEDGMENT IN THE JOB.

Now cross out every letter that is in this sentence twice or more. In the end you will have:
ACKNOWLEDGMTIHJB.

Now create an abstract picture out of the remaining letters, so that you can’t tell the text anymore. If you like, you can add magical or personal symbols or anything else you’d like to attach with or which reminds you of the topic of your wish. But that’s not necessary.

Now try to memorise this picture as good as possible. Try just to internalise the picture, not the wish. Then imagine sending out this picture into the universe, to the Gods or to wherever you want your wish to be heard.

So far, so good…but now follows the tricky part of sigil magic. You have to forget your sigil. Of course that is really hard if it happens to be a heart’s desire. In that case you could for example burn it and thus “forget” it in a more figurative way. Just try not to think about it the following days or weeks.

A fellow witch for example collects all her sigils in a drawer and burns them altogether every once in a while. She definitely does not remember anymore which sigil stands for what wish. To my mind this way works fairly well. But I am sure that as time goes on you’ll find your own special way to deal with your sigils and techniques to forget them.
Some witches even bake their sigils as a small bread and finally eat them. Another nice idea would be to scratch it into the sand of a beach (if you are lucky enough to have a beach close to home…) so that the waves will wash it away or into the earth of a wood where rain could make it vanish.
